Happy Valentine’s Day

14 Feb

Romantic Poem:

If Only You Knew

In the darkness of the night, there is only me and you,
We are woven together in our very own cocoon.

I feel your heartbeat against my chest,
I hold you tight as we both rest.

I start to drift off to sleep,
And think of how I turned complete.

I am only complete when you are near,
To lose you someday is my biggest fear.

It takes two halves to make a whole,
My heart and yours we make one soul.

Hugs All The Way

I left a teddy bear with a card in its arms on every step up to the top of the stairs. When my Girlfriend got home, she slowly followed the cards upstairs reading each one. Each card had a nice message and a letter starting with I. The letters spelled I LOVE YOU. When she got to the top of the stairs, I repeated the message she just collected from the cards. I then kissed her softly on the lips and handed her a small wrapped gift. She opened it to find a beautiful white gold/diamond necklace. She was shocked and grabbed me and started kissing me. I then drove her to the restaurant of her choice. we ate a delicious dinner then I ordered a specially made desert that I had asked to be prepared when we got there. I gave her the first bite from my fork. We spent the rest of the time there looking into each others eyes smiling and talking about how we liked each other so much. I then drove us back to her place. She was so happy with me that she grabbed me and started passionately kissing me right inside the door. We then barely made it to the living room where we proceeded to have some of the best Sex I have ever experienced. After that we went to bed, cuddled and laid there talking for a bit. I then go up and ran her a hot bath with her favorite bath crystals. I gave her a massage in the bath tub for about 30 min. We then want back to bed and she fell asleep in my arms.

Romance Poem Come To Life

My most romantic Valentine’s Day was last year. My husband kept me completely in the dark about what he was doing. At lunch that day, he called me to tell me to go and look in my car. There, I found a note saying, “Roses are red, chrysanthemums are blue…” Lo and behold, there was a blue chrysanthemum on the seat of my car. When I got home, there were rose petals on the doorstep. I went inside and saw a rose-petal path leading all the way to a table, where he had laid out a dozen roses and a gift basket full of bath gels and soaps. Then I found the rest of the poem! It was so romantic. The rest of it read: “Chocolates are sweet and so are you.” He had attached a chocolate rose to that card.

Relaxing Romance

Last year, my boyfriend told me to pack an overnight bag. We drove to a local mineral spa resort where he dropped me off for an hour-long massage. Afterwards, he brought me to a luxury suite with our own private mineral spa. The room was decorated with fresh flowers and he’d prepared a picnic dinner for us to share on the patio, complete with champagne and fresh strawberries for dessert. Later, we curled up together and listened to a playlist of our favorite love songs on his iPod. What made the evening even more special was that it was completely unexpected. He was a student at the time and had saved up for months in order to pamper me like that.

Romantic Ride

My most romantic Valentine’s Day was last year. Neither my boyfriend nor I had a lot of money, so we agreed that we wouldn’t really celebrate. We chose to put what little money we had together and try to go to dinner. After dinner at a local place we headed out to the car. To my surprise, there were two dozen gorgeous pink roses in the driver’s seat of my car. He had his mother put them there while we were eating dinner. It was the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me!

Silver

I was married on Valentine’s Day, going on 26 years ago this year, but I have to say my husband really got me good last year on our silver anniversary last year. He can never surprise me, but he did this time. He plotted, planned and looked for over a years or so to find the right new vehicle for me, then had them hold it, made plans at a nice small romantic restaurant by the fireplace. Everything was done in silver. We were waited on hand and foot, then he presented me with a beautiful card and a small silver box, I thought it was jewelry of course, but when I opened the box, there were a set of car keys. He grabbed my hand and said “run.” We ran out of the restaurant, down the street and around the corner there was a brand new blue Jeep with the biggest silver bow I have ever seen. His nephew took pictures of the whole thing to catch my expressions. It was great and one romantic Valentine’s Day!

Surprise Wedding

A few days before the holiday, my boyfriend bought me a wonderful card with old-fashioned lace, a dozen red roses and a large box of dark chocolate-covered cashews. I was floored by the gesture. But then he asked me what I was doing for a three-day holiday weekend that was coming up.

I just thought we were getting away for a fun-filled weekend of gambling in Nevada. We arrived on a Friday morning, went to our room and unpacked. Then we went downstairs for some gambling. That night, as we were going to bed, he knelt down on one knee, with the ring in one hand and a rose in the other. He said, “What are you doing tomorrow at 12 noon? How about marrying me?” Then he told me of all his secret prearranged plans.

I was so shocked, I just cried like a baby! Of course I said yes!

He had bought our wedding rings, reserved a small chapel on the river and a moonlight boat cruise up and down the Colorado River, with a candlelight dinner and cocktails. The wedding was beautiful!

That was six years ago, and it still feels like yesterday. We are a very happy couple. Even still, my hubby now always has some kind of a special, secret surprise for me, all during our six years of marriage so far.

Puppy Love

My first Valentine’s Day with my fiancé was in 2004 and it was amazing. That January, I’d been looking online for a puppy and found a little Chihuahua I loved. I wanted more information about the dog but had to work, so my now-fiancé said he’d call and talk to the breeder for me. Later, he called to tell me the puppy had been sold. I was crushed.

A month later, on the day before Valentine’s Day, I walked into his apartment and found a card waiting for me. As I was reading it, his dog came running towards me. I started playing with him and then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this tiny little dog run past me with several bows around his neck. I started squealing as my fiancé said, “Do you recognize him?” He had not only bought my Chihuahua, Tony, but had arranged for him to be driven from Missouri and had picked him up at 1 a.m. Tony is the greatest gift anyone has ever given me – and that Valentine’s Day remains the very best one of my life.

Sweet Surprise

Last year my boyfriend came home feb.13 but did not tell me. The next morning I woke up with him in my bed and freaked out!!!! It was the best day ever. We ended up going to a fondue restaurant (soooo much fun) then going to a private concert where he played a video of the first day he meet me. He said he wanted to record how he felt that day because he was sure I was the one he was going to be with for the rest of his life. Then there was three more video clips he had of him talking about me. This all ended with him down on one knee and my whole family appearing. He handed me a homemade fortune cookie reading Inside “WILL YOU MERRY ME” It was so perfect I keep looking to find what movie his idea came from. We got married the following Valentines Day. I am now proud to call him my husband and we are expecting are first child together.

Creating A Family

My most memorable Valentine’s Day was last year, when my husband proposed to me. He has two kids from his previous marriage, and I have two from my previous marriage. All four kids knew he was going to propose for about two months, and they all kept the secret! (He told them because he wanted to make sure they were all okay with him asking me to marry him.)

Valentine’s Day was on a Saturday last year, and we cooked breakfast for the kids as usual, and then he told me that he wanted me to take a shower before I got my gift. I had to let him know when I was ready to come downstairs. I got the okay to come down but was told to go to the living room and sit on the couch. He then gave me a very nice card, which said on the last page: “The only thing left is for you to be my wife.” I looked at him, and then the kids came out of the kitchen holding a box he had made. In the box was a Cupid teddy bear and my engagement ring. In front of all the kids, he said, “I love you. Will you be my wife?” I immediately burst into tears of joy. What a memory!

I Worship The Ground You Walk On

On my second Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, he woke me up in the morning with breakfast in bed. This was a big deal to him since he was not what you would call a “morning person” or a good cook at that. After the breakfast in bed he told me he would clean up and I could come downstairs when I was ready. After I showered and put on my makeup I decided to go downstairs. I thought breakfast in bed was great and wasn’t expecting anything else. But when I was about to walk down the stairs I saw it; each step on the way down had a rose and a little note attached to it. The notes were each a line to a poem he wrote for me and as I walked down the stairs I read each line. By the time I got to the bottom I realized I would have to put my makeup on all over again but I didn’t care because it was the sweetest thing I’d ever seen!

I’ll See You There

I was engaged to a lady (to whom I have now been married for 25 years) and had made reservations months ahead of time at Maxwell’s by the Sea at the Huntington Beach pier for Valentine’s Day. Ellie and I were looking forward to a romantic evening. Unfortunately, a week before the special day, I came down with a ruptured appendix and had to be rushed to the hospital.

I barely survived (literally) and was looking at a two-week stay in the hospital to recover. But I was young and started feeling better in a few days. A plan was hatched. I collaborated with my brother to smuggle myself out for the evening. Of course it was pouring rain that evening. I don’t remember what she ordered, but I had soup.

My chauffeur had me back at 10:30, in time to face the head nurse who was waiting at Room #210 with arms crossed and a stern look on her face.

5 Real, Romantic Christmas Stories

6 Dec
Last Christmas my husband proposed to me in New York. He has some friends who live up there so we were staying with them and a lot of our other friends were there too. He put a tiny Christmas box as a ornament on the tree with a tag adressed to me. He pretended that he had never seen and said that it was addressed to me. He gave it to me and when I looked up he was standing there and he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes but he took a step further and went out on the balcony shouting “She said yes!!” and “We’re getting married!”
************************************
As a college student, I was teaching a Sunday school class of third graders. One of the eight-year-olds, Kirsten, regularly had prayer requests regarding her awful, mean, grouchy big sister. We regularly prayed that her sister would be nicer. Meanwhile, a number of people kept suggesting that I date Kirsten’s sister. Well, I’d heard enough to know to steer clear! At Christmas, Willa – Kirsten’s sister – approached me at church and handed me a Christmas card. I mumbled something noncommittal. About a year later, a friend I worked with was pitching to me how I should take her out. I told him I’d heard about her from her little sister. He laughed  and told me that Kirsten had three sisters and Willa was definitely not the mean one. So – a year late – I told Willa,’Thanks for the Christmas card.’ She retorted: ‘Well, don’t expect another one!’ We’ve now been married 28 years.
************************************
This is how I was proposed to to… He took me to the park on Christmas night and gave me a huge box. I opened the first box and inside there were packing peanuts and another box. I opened the next box and inside was the same. I opened the next, same thing. I opened the last box and inside was a small teddy bear that sang Silent Night. I didn’t notice the ring box that was attached to him until a minute later. It had the words “marry me?” on the back of its fake sheet of music. It was so sweet and I was totally surprised!
************************************
I had my first date on Christmas Eve! 🙂 It was so sweet and special!
He came over during the week to give my Christmas present, and it was an invitation to my favourite restaurant! And then, since my birthday is on Christmas Day, he said he had a birthday present for me too. I asked what it was and he said he was taking me to the restaurant! Which was very sweet, as I’ve been looking forward to our first date for ages!
Well during the meal, flowers were delivered to the restaurant for me and he gave me the most beautiful necklace! I was so overwhelmed! It was lovely! 🙂
************************************
I live in Michigan and my fiance lives in New York. My children, 19 and 16, and I went to spend Christmas with him. Leon works at Shubert Theater in NYC and he bought us tickets to see the show playing there, Spamalot, for Christmas Eve. He told us that he had to do some work during the show and wouldn’t be joining us in the audience. During intermission Leon came to my seat and told me that one of the security guards would come get us after the show so we could go backstage and meet the cast. When the curtain went down, the security guard showed up and took us backstage. He told us to go up the steps (on the stage) and as we walked up, I saw most of the cast milling about, but mostly looking at us. I have to say I felt a little weird, and I looked around for my boyfriend, and there he was. . . dressed like one of King Arthur’s Knights. He was standing there smiling at me, and I looked back at the security guard and said, “I’m not going out there.” I thought the curtain was going to go up and he was going to start singing and have me part of some wacky sideshow! Instead the guard nudged me and told me to get out there. I did, and Leon recited the most beautiful poem, he wrote it himself. I was in a semi-shocked-stage-fright-kind of stupor. I heard the poem, but didn’t REALLY hear it. I did grasp those magic words; “Will you be my wife,For all of our life. Please say yes, I pray for nothing less.” And of course I said yes!! My Knight in Shining Armor, isn’t that what every girl dreams of?

32 Ways To Get Your Ex Back

29 Nov

I will not go into the steps of deciding if it’s right for you and your ex to be reunited or the reasons for breaking up. I will not go into whether it’s right or wrong for you, them, or both to be back in a relationship. There are other blogs and articles to help with that. This blog is intended to be positive, a pick-me-upper, and full of hope. This is for when you have hope and love and a strong belief that you two belong together and will be happier together.

1. If they broke up with you, think of why. Find the mistakes that were made and correct them.

2. If you’ve changed (for the better and in a way you want to change) in a way you know they wanted- don’t tell them, show them. They have no reason to believe you if they don’t see it.

3. Remember what made them fall in love with you in the first place. Show them that you’re still that wonderful, amazing person they wanted to be with so much.

4. Tell yourself that you need to be strong. This is hard and it won’t get any easier. It’s ok, you can handle it.

5. Bring up pleasant memories- how much fun you two had together.

6. If you did something wrong, say you’re sorry.

7. Inside jokes go a very, very, very long way- they’re as powerful as memories while adding a little humor- laughing makes people feel good and remember good times.

8. Don’t retaliate in any way, shape, or form.

9. Figure out the situation- is it better to let them right now that you want them back (you broke up with them or they broke up with you, but give a lot of signals showing they do want to be with you,) or if you should be casual and rebuild the friendship first (they’re very hurt over the breakup, they felt things were going too fast, ect.) Most people recommend cutting off all contact for a while. Most of the time that is the best idea. However, occasionally, when you know there’s a good chance they want you back- let them know right away before they enter a rebound relationship. If you let them know and they say ‘no’ then cut off contact for a while to recover and give them a chance to miss you.

10. If they did something wrong you’ll have to let go. Don’t demand or even expect a sorry. If you need it and they never say it, you’ll just get hurt.

11. Do things that make you feel good. Someone who feels good is more attractive than someone who is always sad.

12. Plan an activity together that could be casual, but has potential to lead to more- have lunch, coffee, hike, mini-golf, bowling, ect.

13. Don’t get clingy. No constant texts or calls or messages. It’s overwhelming.

14. Do something exciting together- excitement is stimulating, bonding, and generates good memories- try rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, football games, river rafting, ect.

15. Tell them that you’ve been thinking about them.

16. Remember the things they loved- things you said to them, things you did together, things you did to them- and use that to your advantage- but not too much at once, begin slowly.

17. Make sure you listen to them a lot- their life, problems, joys, views on the breakup, ect.It builds the friendship.

18. Try little bits of romance- start very small with a text or a note or a flower. If they receive it well you can build up more.

19. Do not contact them when drunk.

20. Be busy. Do things with your friends, family, coworkers, or by yourself! It shows how you don’t need them and play hard to get- people tend to pursue what they can’t have.

21. Always be kind. Don’t make passive-agressive statments or bring up nasty bits of the past. If you want to be with them- you have to let that go.

22. Do not ever beg. It makes you feel bad and it doesn’t look much better to them. If you need to, politely ask to have a conversation in a public place so they can explain themselves further, but don’t push anything at that point.

23. Small ammounts of physical contact is helpful- brus their hand when walking close, just for a second. Move a piece of hair from their eye or off their shirt. Little touches go a long way.

24. Don’t try to make them jealous. If they don’t get jealous it’ll hurt your feelings. If they do get jealous it will hurt theirs. You may end up in a jealousy war- not fun.

25. Don’t give ultimatums. They’re not good for relationships- ever.

26. It’s always a good idea to find ways to improve yourself all the time. It’s especially good after a break up to help keep you moving forward.

27. Be supportive of them- it feels good and they know that you’re always in their corner- no matter what. It lets them trust you.

28. Continue talking to other people. It’s ok to even flirt a bit- you’re single right now and flirting gives you confidence. (It’s even better when the flirting is with your ex.)

29. Do not enter another relationship or sleep with other people.

30. Don’t say too much behind their back. They need to know that they can still trust you with their secrets even when things are rough. Still speak highly of them to friends and family- so they’ll be more supportive with the reunion.

31. Enjoy your time apart. Sometimes that’s why things ended. Enjoying yourself is important and not only will make you more appealing, but will help the relationship in the future.

32. If you were together for a very long time or married before you broke up then seek couples’ counsling.

Good luck!
